Patrick Sisson

Freelance Journalist

Patrick Sisson is a freelance journalist who focuses on urbanism, technology, real estate development, and the forces that shape our cities. His work has appeared in Bloomberg CityLab, The New York Times, MIT Technology Review, Dwell, Fast Company, and The Baffler. He contributed a chapter to State of Housing Design 2023, a book published by Harvard’s Joint Center for Housing Studies.

He previously worked as a senior reporter for Curbed, covering architecture, transportation, and urban issues, where he wrote a weekly column called “Property Lines.”  A Chicago expat who lives in Los Angeles, he also previously has written about music for Pitchfork and Wax Poetics and covered Chicago's nightlife history, including oral histories of institutions such as the Green Mill.
